SD Card Recording

SD Card Recording

SD card recording is now a common feature in most IP CCTV camera's. SD card recording is the process of recording images displayed by the camera to a local SD memory card fitted within the camera itself.

When an SD card is fitted in to an IP CCTV camera and the feature has been activated it can be used in a few different ways.

Some of the uses of camera SD recordings are:

  • Retain recordings on network/IP loss to an IP camera (as long as the camera is not PoE powered).
  • A second copy of the images recorded from the camera to provide basic data loss redundancy.
  • Edge recording.
