What web browser is recommended for LILIN IP products?

LILIN recommend using the latest version of Internet Explorer wherever possible.

LILIN use Microsoft’s ActiveX technology with their IP products. However ActiveX controls will only work with full versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer and is unsupported by other browsers.

ActiveX removes the need to download / install 3rd party apps or software when connecting to a device, instead the browser will be prompted to install any additional plugins directly from the device, with the device presenting these plugins for download when a connection is establish.

Can't use Internet Explorer or using an Apple device

If it is not possible to use Internet Explorer then use of alternative browsers is supported. When using Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari or any other non-Internet Explorer based browser you will need to download additional 3rd party software in order for your LILIN IP device to function correctly.

You will require:

QuickTime (Apple)
Java (Sun Microsystems)

Once this additional software has been installed the web browser will use these as a substitute to ActiveX components. The results are almost equal when connecting to IP camera’s, there are however differences when using Internet Explorer and other browsers when connecting to a LILIN DVR / NVR.

If you are connecting to a LILIN device using Internet Explorer and do not receive any video in the display window, follow the guide here.
If you are connecting to a LILIN device not using Internet Explorer and do not receive any video in the display window, follow the guide here.
