What is the maximum transmission distance for power using PoC

The maximum transmission distance between the PoC injector and AHD camera will vary depending on which type/grade of coaxial cable being used.

If 5C-2V coaxial cable has been used the maximum distance is 500m.

If 3C-2V coaxial cable has been used the maximum distance is 300m.

The maximum transmission distance between a POC camera and the POC supply is 500m. On the rear of the POC supply, next to each BNC input is a switch that can be set to either position 1 or 2 depending on the distance you wish to achieve.

Switch Position

5C-2V

3C-2V

1

250-500M

150-300M

2

0-250M

0-150M

So, if you have 5C rated cable you can achieve 500 metres distance with the switch set to 1.

Cable Ratings

3C-2V is (6.5mm diameter) which is basic TV coax like RG-59

• 3C-2V coaxial cable 75©:
• Inner conductor: bare copper 0.5mm
• Insulation: solid PE 3.1mm
• Outer conductor: bare copper braid 95% coverage
• Jacket: PVC 5.4mm

5C-2V is (8.5mm diameter) is better-quality "satellite" coax like CT100 or RG-6

• 5C-2V coaxial cable 75©:
• Inner conductor: bare copper 0.8mm
• Insulation: solid PE 4.9mm
• Outer conductor: bare copper braid 95% coverage
• Jacket: PVC 7.4mm

***Important Information***

The figure quoted above are only a estimate and can vary between type and quality of cable used.
