Keeping the time and date in sync across the entire system is achievable in a few easy steps using NTP.
NTP is short for Network Time Protocol and is a protocol used for syncing time across devices.
*** Please note, the NVR must be connected to the internet and have the correct network details set ***
The first step is to enable and configure NTP on the NVR. The NTP option can be found within the following location. System --> Time
Within the Time Menu, ensure the 'Time Sync Mode' is set to NTP and that your geographical location is correct using the drop-down under Time Zone. Then click apply at the bottom of the screen.
If successful, the NTP Status will show - Connect NTP Server OK
The next step is to enable the time sync for the required channel.
Enter the Camera Menu on the NVR and enable the option labelled 'Sync Time with NVR' located near the bottom of the screen. This option is enabled on a per-channel basis, so enure this option is enabled for all the channels you want the time to be in sync.
Now click 'Apply'. This is going to sync current time and date of the NVR to all cameras with this option enabled.
As default the NVR is set to sync the time with NTP every hour, this can be adjusted within the System --> Time menu.
If an NVR channel has 'Sync Time with NVR' enabled, this will disable NTP under that camera's time menu, this stops the camera also trying to update its time independently.
