How to enable the Transcode JPEG option on an NVR

Please note that this feature is not supported by all LILIN NVR's. Please check your hardware model number before proceeding.

This feature is currently supported by the NVR 3 & 5 Series.

Transcoding is a process used to convert one video format to another, this is usually done with a device to allow other file formats to be used.

In this case the NVR 3 & 5 series support JPEG transcoding, this can enable the NVR to generate a JPEG stream which is required by the LILINViewer mobile app when the camera cannot or does not natively
support one.

The JPEG stream is transcoded using the Standard Definition stream, so this will be required for the process to work.

To enable the Transcode JPEG option, log in to your NVR. Navigate to:

Network --> Other

The look for the JPEG options, you will see a dropdown with 'Transcode JPEG' or 'Software Encode H26X to JEPG' as a selectable option.

(If you do not have this option but have an NVR 3 or 5 Series, please download and update to the latest firmware available here)
