NVR 6 Series Quick Backup Feature

The NVR 6 Series, running firmware version 11.0.42.11188 or later, includes a Quick Backup feature. This allows you to quickly create a video backup by selecting a start and end time directly from the playback timeline.

The NVR automatically generates an HD AVI backup file for all cameras currently visible on the screen.

Accessing Playback

  1. Click the Playback button.
  2. A calendar window will appear. Select the date and time you wish to review, then click OK.
  3. The playback timeline will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Selecting Cameras for Backup

Use the View icon to choose how many camera channels are displayed. The Quick Backup feature only backs up cameras that are visible on-screen at the time the backup is created.

For example:

  • If all 16 cameras are displayed, the Quick Backup feature will back up all 16 channels.
  • If a 4-camera (quad) view is selected, only those 4 channels will be included in the backup.

For more precise time selection, you may wish to zoom in on the playback timeline before creating the backup. To zoom, use the mouse wheel.

Creating a Quick Backup

  1. Click the Quick Backup icon.
  2. Two markers will appear on the timeline, indicating the start and end times.
  3. Adjust these markers as required.
  4. Click the Quick Backup icon again to confirm your selection.

A confirmation window will appear, displaying the selected time range and channels to be backed up. Review the information and click OK if everything is correct.

Downloading the Backup Files

After confirmation, a message will appear advising you to navigate to the NVR's Backup section and wait while the backup files are prepared.

  1. Click OK.
  2. Select Backup from the top menu bar.
  3. Once processing is complete, the available backup files will be displayed.
  4. Tick the video files you wish to download.
  5. Click the Download button at the bottom of the screen.

Depending on your PC settings, you may either:

  • Be prompted to choose a download location, or
  • Have the files automatically downloaded to your default download folder.

The downloaded files will be saved in HD AVI format and can be viewed using standard video playback software.
